As individuals we are powerful but often stupid. Collectively as the human race, however, we’re lazy, indifferent, and dangerous.
We destroy the environment, spread lies and rumors for ratings and a quick buck, and often judge and treat each other as if we’ve never known the shame of making a mistake.
This blog is about assholes; from the media, culture, and the general idiocy of humanity, to the jerk who cut you off in traffic or the bird who shit on your car. (Yes. birds can be assholes too, but what did you think was gonna happen parking under a big tree?)
Humans are a powerful species. But as that douche Tobey Maguire quoted in Spider-Man, “With great power, comes great responsibility” and as history teaches us we’ve rarely used ours wisely. Even our advanced evolution does not leave us immune to stupidity. And stupidity often leads to assholism.
