A two-month old tiger cub is recovering at a wildlife preserve after customs authorities at a Bangkok airport discovered the animal drugged and hidden among stuffed-tiger toys in a woman’s over-sized suitcase.

Is it any wondering why I hate people?

I saw this on the news last night. Sickening story, poor little cub stuffed in a suitcase, no air, no room to move, no water. I am glad however that she got caught in Thailand.

They have a pretty no nonsense justice system and punishment should be harsh.

I just hope the little guy is feeling better after this ordeal. Such a cutie!!

According to an article on MSNBC: “The woman, identified as Piyawan Palasarn, faces up to four years in prison and a 40,000 baht ($1,300) fine for two wildlife smuggling-related charges, police said.”

Not harsh enough. As long as people insist on owning exotic pets and/or the penalties are not tough enough to deter wildlife traffickers, this type of thing will unfortunately continue to happen.
